Surviving the Zombie Apocalypse:
Modern Survival in Changing Times
March 5th from 7 to 9pm and March 7th from 9 to noon
Have you ever seen The Walking Dead? Or Welcome to Zombieland? It could happen and you best be prepared. Far more likely, however, is a roadside accident that leaves you stranded in the wilderness overnight. An emergency can happen at any time. Perhaps you are simply driving to visit a friend in the mountains and your car slides off the road. Suddenly you need to spend a night in the snow. Would you survive, or would you die?
Where would you find warmth and safety? What items would you wish you had with you?
In this evening workshop you will learn:
- Neurology and Psychology of Survival
- Survival Priorities
- Hyperthermia and Hypothermia
- Fire vs. Shelter (Shelter Wins)
- Dressing Appropriately
- Emergency Signaling
- Building the Perfect Survival Kit
- Getting Found
- Surviving a Zombie Attack
This two part workshop begins with a two hour classroom portion where we explore the theory behind survival and preparation. The following Saturday we head to a front range wilderness setting for a three hour session where we will put our theories into practice. Bring your personal gear for us to test. Some supplies will be available for purchase.
Thursday location: Kindness Yoga on Hudson Street.
Saturday location: White Ranch Open Space Park.
