The Zen of Fire (Primitive Fire Starting)

Have you ever wondered how ancient humans made fire? Would you like to be more prepared in an emergency situation?
Primitive fire is an act of meditation, perseverance, and gratitude.
In this three hour workshop we will cover:
-One match fires
-Bow drill fire starting
-Hand drill fire starting
You will learn how to build nesting as well as what local materials can be used to build hand drills and bow drills. In addition we will discuss the evolution of fire, beginning with primitive fire-starting techniques and ending with modern fire-making tools.
When: Sunday, October 18th from 1:00pm to 4:00pm
Where: White Ranch Open Space Park
How Much: Suggested donation of $30 dollars
Please show up 15 minutes early so we can begin on time.
